Notes

Common Prayer, particularly in the context of Christianity, refers to the set of prayers and liturgical texts used collectively by a congregation. It often includes a structured format for worship services, such as morning and evening prayers, communion, and other rites. The most famous collection of such texts is the “Book of Common Prayer,” first compiled in 1549 for the Church of England. This book was designed to standardize worship practices across the church, ensuring a unified and accessible form of worship for all believers. Common Prayer emphasizes community and shared faith experiences, fostering a sense of unity and continuity within the church.
