Taro Taniguchi

From Japan’s oldest fragrant island

Awaji Island, where the first fragrant wood drifted ashore in Japan, boasts Japan’s largest production of incense sticks, and its fragrance masters, known as Koshi, are pursuing new incense sticks while carrying on traditional techniques.

This product contains 14 different types of incense named after people who are well-known in Europe, allowing you to enjoy the stories of 14 different people.

The included Awaji-gawara incense stick stand can hold two incense sticks at the same time, allowing you to enjoy your own unique mellow fragrance depending on how you combine them.

The collaboration of different types of incense – traditional and innovative, Western and Eastern, two different scents – overturns the concept of incense sticks and creates a moment of peace and tranquillity.

Incense sticks that can be enjoyed by men and women of all ages, and are recommended as gifts for loved ones.
