This unique St. Brigid Cross is rendered here in resin, with the look of natural straw. Legend holds that, as a teaching device, St. Brigid wove a cross of reeds or rushes to explain Christianity to Irish pagans. Over the years, the St. Brigid cross has become a symbol of hope and is often used to bless houses in Ireland. This rustic-looking St. Brigid cross is a great housewarming gift or a perfect addition to a new home. Includes a gift card that provides for the St. Brigid prayer and the history of the cross. The card reads, ” St. Brigid, patroness of Ireland, founded its first women’s religious community. A cross made of rushes is her special emblem, and it is thought to ward away evil from the house that displays it.” It comes ready to hang.
